Will Murray's Pulp Classics
Terror Tales Harrison Storm and Russell Gray

These exciting pulp adventures have been beautifully reformatted for easy reading as an eBook. As a special bonus, Will Murray has written an introduction especially for this Terror Tales series of eBooks.

In 1934 a new type of magazine was born. Known by various names — the shudder pulps, mystery-terror magazines, horror-terror magazines — weird menace is the sub-genre term that has survived today. Terror Tales magazine was one of the most popular. It came from Popular Publications, whose publisher Harry Steeger was inspired by the Grand Guignol theater of Paris. This breed of pulp story survived less than ten years, but in that time, they became infamous, even to this day. This ebook contains a collection of stories from the pages of Terror Tales magazine, all written by Bruno Fischer writing as Harrison Storm and Russell Gray, reissued for today’s readers in electronic format.

Table of Contents:

by Will Murray

The House That Horror Built — Sept-Oct 1937 issue of Terror Tales

Are you a girl? — and are you beautiful? Then as you love life and sanity avoid Thoran — for you will worship him with your heart and body and your blood will flow in your veins.

A Corpse Wields the Lash — Sept-Oct 1937 issue of Terror Tales
by Bruno Fischer writing as Russell Gray
The terror that old Tobias Weatherby’s lovely daughters learned from his cruel whip was magnified a thousand-fold when, after his death, his gnarled and bloody hands continued to lash them with ghastly, remorseless torture.

Darlings of the Black Master — Nov-Dec 1937 issue of Terror Tales
by Bruno Fischer writing as Russell Gray
Did some strange influence not of this Earth lead my wife, powerless, to the den of that sadistic monster, to be cruelly dismembered alive? Or did a secret lust that slumbered in her soul direct her to erring steps?

Valley of the Red Death — Jan-Feb 1938 issue of Terror Tales
by Bruno Fischer writing as Harrison Storm
Had Chief Flying Hawk come back again, as he swore he would every generation, to avenge the demolition of his entire village? Or was it some more dastardly menace behind the bloody terror that gripped Oak Valley — leaving both men and women torn, bleeding, scalped!

The Devil Is Our Landlord — Jan-Feb 1938 issue of Terror Tales
by Bruno Fischer writing as Russell Gray
“The hands! Oh God! Stop the hands!” those were the words each young girl screamed as, completely nude and hopelessly insane, she returned to that modern apartment house from which, days before, she had vanished — as though into fresh air!
