This will be my first review any comics on my Good Reads list. But after reading this series I thought it was about time. I read all 12 issues but I'm just posting my review on the first one to cover the entire series.

This was a perfect mix of art and prose with Jim Kruger and Doug Braithwaite. They created a surreal tale, involving an impressive list of Justice League members. The character development is amazing as they captured "real" moments in the lives of so many of the heroes. You would think dealing with so many characters that there would be a lot of meaningless cameos, but they are able to pack meaning in each panel. Granted it helped that I was already familiar with each character but still an impressive feat.

The plot involved literally a world ending threat that taxed the abilities of all members of the League. Yet the plot still managed to make it personnel with the most detailed account involving Aquaman (always one of my favorites). With so much power available to the combined League most threats could seem pointless; but not so with this tale. Before it is over you are wondering what will be he personal cost.

I'm a Marvel fanboy at heart but DC has a winner here.
