This is the sixth book I’ve read by this author/illustrator. I just realized it’s her first published book. I’ve now enjoyed all six and intend to continue and read her other published works and books yet to be published. One thing I love about her illustrations is that her style varies somewhat between different books.

This is a brilliantly done virtually wordless picture book that tells a full story via its illustrations. I alternated between smiling or chuckling and having strong angry or sad or outraged feelings.Mostly, it’s very entertaining. I appreciated the story within the story aspect, and I really loved the ending.

Almost all the illustrations are in black and white but there is some color in a few of them. They’re all beautifully done.

This is a very unique picture book and I really enjoyed it, but I’m not sure what age groups of people are most likely to enjoy it. I’d definitely recommend it to adults and teens and older children, but maybe not to young children. It’s a mature story, but I think some young kids might enjoy it because by looking at the pictures they’ll be able to “read” the story for themselves.
